Your Life is a Balancing Act.
Every once in a while, I lay awake at night.
I can not sleep. My brain is racing at too many ideas.
What am I doing with my life?
Where will I be in 5 years?
Did I leave the stove on?
I do not need this anxiety. In reality, my life is going pretty well.
I need to sleep. The insomnia lets these thoughts creep in.
The insomnia creates this insecurity. My mind has become a playground of thoughts since it can not power down for sleep.
The Realization.
The human being requires balance:
Stimulation and boredom.
Effort and recovery.
Movement and stillness.
If one spills over to the other domain, it disrupts the effectiveness of the system.
The Lesson.
A lot of the features of modern society hijack this balance.
Social media overstimulates our attention and prevents boredom.
We overwork in most job settings and get 2 weeks of vacation (recovery).
We jam-pack our daily routine to cover every last errand.
Now, we lay awake at night.
Your body, your mind, and your routine are all a balancing act.
Get on the same page.
Look out for yourself. Check in on how you feel.
Reach out to your support system and confide in those that can help.
Be willing to take control of the balance in your life.
